- Search and reflect (individually or in groups) on the various methodology definitions and formulate your own definition of what a methodology is. Discuss and compare your definition in class.
- Methodologies use many common terminologies that were not covered in this chapter. Define the following common terms: Paradigm, Techniques, Task, Tools, Iterations, Prototyping, Design Specifications, Notations, and Modeling.
- Find a formalized methodology that is well documented on the web, briefly examine its details, and prepare a brief report on the methodology in terms of its general basic structure i.e. principles, processes, and services. Also identify the main stages of the methodology.
- Find a formalized methodology that is well documented on the web, briefly examine its details, and prepare a one page report on the methodology using the dimensions provided by NIMSAD. Students are advised to select different methodologies to include, but are not restricted to: ISDM, SISP, ISM, BPRM.
