Developing a productive company culture

When a company is small, the owner can impose his or her beliefs and standards about how things should be run, by being involved in all phases of the operation for all or most of the hours the hotel or restaurant is open. When the organization grows to the point where personal supervision by the owner over all phases at all times is impossible, employees need something to guide their actions, something beyond policies and procedures. That something is a company culture.
