The philosophy that underlies the model of an evolutionary globalization process is the systems approach. The systems approach emphasizes the relationship between the organization and its external environment. This viewpoint is particularly appropriate for the study of international business. It also fits the layperson's understanding of an international business transaction as something that involves going "outside" one's own national boundaries.
