OTHER CONTRACTUAL ARRANGEMENTS

17 November, 2015 - 15:34

The term technical assistance agreement (TAA) is used to refer to an agreement in which the nonhost party is an international agency (such as the U.N., the World Bank, or the IMF), a western government, or some other nonbusiness institution such as a university or a nonprofit foundation. A TAA may involve licensing, franchising, a management contract, or any of the other modes of entry. [The term industrial cooperation agreement (lCA) is used frequently to describe a relationship between a western company and government agency in a Communist country. ]

Service contracts, co-production agreements, and R&D cooperative arrangements are all variations of the basic contractual agreements explained above. All of these types of agreements will be treated in CONSORTIA AND STRATEGIC ALLCES.
